Highland Giveaway – Terms and Conditions

By entering, you agree to these official rules, which form a binding agreement. Please read them carefully before entering.

1. Dates of the Giveaway. The Highland Giveaway (the “Giveaway”) begins at 12:00 GMT on March 6th, 2025, and ends at 23:59 on March 27th, 2025 (the “Giveaway Period”).

2. Sponsor. The sponsor of the Giveaway is Kerlingarfjöll ltd., a company registered in Iceland (the “Sponsor”), with its registered address at Norðurljósavegur 9, 241 Grindavík, Iceland. Highland Base – Kerlingarfjöll is located in the central highlands of Iceland.

3. Eligibility. The Giveaway is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Austria, who are eighteen years of age or older as of the date of entry (the “Entrant”). Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Directors, managers, and employees of the Sponsor, and each of its subsidiaries, affiliates, and related companies, as well as immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each such person, and any others engaged in the development, production, execution or distribution of the Giveaway, are not eligible to participate.

4. How to Enter. During the Giveaway Period, you may enter the Giveaway by visiting this link and following the instructions provided. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person. Entries will be deemed to have been submitted and made by the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter the Giveaway at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization that is responsible for assigning such email addresses for its associated domain name. Any attempt by an Entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different email addresses, and/or any other methods will void that Entrant’s entry and that Entrant may be disqualified from the Giveaway. By entering the Giveaway, entrants fully and unconditionally agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which will be final and binding in all matters relating to the Giveaway, and not subject to appeal.

5. Drawing/Odds. On March 31st 2025 the prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries. The winner will be notified via email from the Sponsor, to which they will have to reply within ten (10) calendar days of attempted notification. In the event the potential prize winner fails to reply within ten (10) calendar days, or if it is determined by the Sponsor in his sole discretion, that a potential prize winner is ineligible in accordance with these rules, an alternate prize winner will be selected at random from among the remaining non-winning eligible entries received during the Giveaway Period.

6. Prizes. One (1) prize will be awarded, consisting of the following:

• A two-night stay at Kerlingarfjöll - Highland Base in a Deluxe room*

• A gift card from Icelandair in the amount of $USD 1000 (USD one thousand)**

• Transfer from Skjól Basecamp (Kjóastaðir 1, 806 Selfoss, Iceland) to Kerlingarfjöll

• Dinner for two at the Higland Base restaurant

• Access for two to the Highland Baths

• Activity on site , depending on season and conditions

• Giftbag upon arrival

• Two jackets from 66° North

*The two-night stay at Kerlingarfjöll Highland Base is subject to availability between June 15th, 2025, and June 15th, 2026. Blackout dates or other restrictions may apply. Upon request, the two-night stay may be eligible for redemption on alternative dates.

**The Icelandair gift card is subject to these Terms and Conditions.

7. Prize restrictions. All prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable, and no substitutions or cash redemptions can be made, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Each prize winner or person accompanying the prize winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, including taxes imposed on his/her income. No more than the stated number of prizes set forth in these rules will be awarded. By entering the Giveaway, you are not automatically entered into or eligible to receive any prizes in any other Giveaway run by the Sponsor at a later time.

8. Termination of the Giveaway. If for any reason this Giveaway is not able to be conducted as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Giveaway, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Giveaway and randomly draw from eligible entries received up to the cancellation/suspension date to award prizes.

9. No liability. By participating, Entrants and prize winners agree to release the Sponsor, along with its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any liability for claims or damages, related in any way to the operation of the Giveaway. The Sponsor is not responsible for any entry that is lost, late, illegible, stolen, mutilated, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected or undeliverable, whether due to system errors, omissions, interruption, deletions, defects, delay in operations or transmissions, theft or destruction or failures, faulty transmissions or other telecommunications malfunctions, human error, entries not received resulting from any hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or telephone transmissions, typographical or system errors and failures, faulty transmissions, technical malfunctions, or otherwise. Only fully completed entries are eligible.

10. Use of data. As outlined in the instructions provided during the Giveaway’s entry process, signing up for the Highland Base – Kerlingarfjöll newsletter is a requirement for entry. By signing up for the Highland Base - Kerlingarfjöll newsletter, and participating in this Giveaway, you consent to the Sponsor’s processing of your contact information (“Personal Information”) for the purpose of communicating with you. The Sponsor may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters containing promotional material and other information that may be of interest to you. When processing is based on your consent you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent before its withdrawal. You can write to the Sponsor at info@highlandbase.is with ‘Privacy’ in the subject line to withdraw your consent. Each promotional communication you receive will also include an option to unsubscribe from further communications. The processing of your Personal Information is governed by applicable law, as well as the Sponsor’s privacy policy, accessible here: https://highlandbase.is/about/privacy-policy. By participating in the Giveaway, Entrants hereby agree to the Sponsor’s collection and processing of their Personal Information in the above regard and acknowledge that they have read and accepted the Sponsor’s privacy policy.

11. Applicable law. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iceland, without regard to any conflict of law principles. Please note that Icelandic law may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction. By agreeing to these rules and entering the Giveaway, you acknowledge that Icelandic law will apply.
