Snækollur Hike

Many claim that from the summit of Snækollur (Snow Top Mountain), on a clear day, you can see both the southern and northern coasts of Iceland. Snækollur is the highest peak in Kerlingarfjöll mountains and we can vouch, oceanview or not, that the scenery is breathtaking.

Join a knowledgeable guide for a hike up a steep but relatively short ascent and then along the rocky mountain ridge trail to the top. There, it's time for a well-deserved snack break while enjoying the amazing views. If conditions allow, the return hike will cross a small glaciated snowfield, leading directly back to our starting point.

Participants should meet the guide at the hotel at 10:00 to receive glacier gear and adjust their crampons, among other preparations. Thereafter, participants will drive their own vehicles to the starting point of the hike.
